Within the upscale section, the story is much the same. Upscale siding, which includes fiber cement and foam-backed vinyl, have a listed ROI of 47% and 48% respectively. Upscale vinyl window replacement will net you a 54% return, compared to 50% for wood. Lastly, upscale roofing has an ROI of 39% for Lancaster.

The report, as with all reports of this nature should be taken with a grain of salt. The listed prices and percentages are averages and do not necessarily apply to every particular home or situation. Most of the percentages within the mid-Atlantic region seem to coincide with similar reports we've seen in years past on national level. If any numbers seemed surprising to us, it would be that of foam-backed vinyl only having an ROI of 69%. We've seen other reports listing this upscale siding home improvement with a return of nearly 80%. The 47% ROI for Lancaster seems extremely low.
It is our opinion that the numbers listed for the whole mid-Atlantic region are likely more accurate than those listed for Lancaster specifically.
So, what's listed as the home improvement with the most "bang for your buck?" For Lancaster, the answer is garage doors, listed as having a whopping 103% return in the midrange home improvement category. For upscale home improvements, vinyl replacement windows leads the pack for Lancaster at 54%.
